Harry Enten Biography
Harry Joe Enten is a CNN senior political data reporter and host of the ‘Margins of Error’ podcast. He is a former senior writer and analyst at FiveThirtyEight. He is best known for his analysis of American politics and polling data, he offers incisive statistical assessments on everything from music and sports to the weather and travel optimization.
He has had a keen interest in politics since kindergaten when he accompanied his father to the polls. While he high school, he founded the ‘Margin of Error’ blog which focused on election analysis. The blog garned attention of The Guardian, which hired him to cover the American election, and Nate Silver, who hired him as a writer and analyst at FiveThirtyEight.

Harry holds a degree in government with a concentration in statistics and elections having graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth. He chose Dartmouth due to access of snow and presidential politics. He once skipped an Obama rally because he had a political science class, only to have the professor scold him for having misplaced priorities.

Enten was born on April 22, 1988 in New York City. He stands at a height of 5 feet 6 inches tall.
Harry Enten Family; Father, Mother, Brother
Harry was born to Dr. Barbara Esther Strassberg and Judge Harold Enten. At the time of his birth, his mother was 40 years old while his father was 61 years old.
His mother, Dr. Barbara is a pediatrician in New York with over 42 years of experience. She graduated magna cum laude from Brooklyn College and cum laude from the Upstate Medical College and received a master’s degree in education from the State University at Buffalo. In addition, she served as a lecturer at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
His father Harold Enten was a former Supervising Judge of the Bronx Criminal Court and former Chief of the Supreme Court Bureau of the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. He graduated from New York University and the New York Law School. He died on September 9, 2015 at the age of 87.
Harry was brought up alongside his brother Louise Enten but not much is known about him as he keeps a low profile from the spotlight.
Harry Enten Partner
According to some sources Harry is married to a partner known as Alyssa but nit much is known about her. It os alleged that the couple met at a political conference in 2015 and began dating in 2017. They got engaged in 2020 during a trip to the mountains and got married in a private ceremony in 2021.

Harry Enten Political Affiliation
Harry has not publically stated his political affiliation, but in 2019 during an interview with Dartmouth Alumni Magazine he revealed that his college days were the last time he was overtly partisan. He was a member of College Democrats and the campus NAACP chapter. He oversaw campus elections as head of Dartmouth’s elections planning and advisory committee. He even persuaded the committee to introduce approval voting, allowing students to vote for as many candidates as they liked. In his senior year, despite being a Democrat he voted for the Republican candidate for the House of Representatives, Charlie Bass.
Harry Enten Religion – Jewish
Harry is Jewish. During an interview with The Jerusalem Post, he went to Hebrew school for a little while, then had a private tutor and had a bar mitzvah in Israel. While on TV he says ‘Shalom’ revealing that he is just being himself, “It really didn’t come from anything except for me being perhaps a little bit more comfortable in being who I am. On the weekends, I wish people “good Shabbos.” It’s just being polite and being me.”
How is Harry Enten related to Neil Sedaka
Neil Sedaka, is a retired performing artist and pianist, he is Harry’s uncle as he is married to Harry’s aunt. The couple met in Israel where Harry’s late grandmother ran a Catskills resort.

Harry is a CNN senior political data reporter and host of CNN’s “Margins of Error” podcast, having joined CNN in February 2018 as a senior political writer and analyst for CNN, covering politics with a focus on poll numbers and electoral trends.
He began his career as a blogger for his election analysis blog, ‘Margin Error’, which he started while in high school. His work was noticed by The Guardian who hired him to write about American elections as well as weather.
In 2013, he was poached by Nate Silver to join FiveThirtyEight after it relaunched under ESPN where he wrote political and weather articles. After 538 launched its podcast, he became a host alongside Nate Silver. He had previously interned at the the NBC Political Unit in Washington D.C. (Spring 2009) & Pollster.com (spring and summer 2010)
